MY APPROACH

THE NERVOUS SYSTEM

The approach I have taken that helped me and many others is mainly focussed around the nervous system. Research in the area of PNI (Psycho-Neuro-Immunology) gives great insight on how the nervous system connects body and mind. It shows us that the split we have made in our current healthcare system between mind and body is outdated, especially when dealing with these chronic conditions.  I want to change that and take a holistic approach, look at the whole picure.

The theory is that the nervous system has gotten haywire and is causing all the symptoms you are currently experiencing. Together we will peel the onion, layer by layer until we resolve the issue, no matter what is takes. 

On the outer layers, there are simple techniques like brain retraining that involve techniques from NLP (Neuro-linguistic programming) and will help your nervous system to interpret triggers in a different way, perceiving them as safe and healthy instead of as dangerous. Over time, this will result in lessening and eventually vanishing of symptoms. 

 

For some people, we will need to go a few layers deeper to get to the root. Trauma, repressed emotions, certain beliefs about the world or yourself and inauthenticity to name a few, can cause tremendous stress on the nervous system. Together we will explore if some of these factors are at play for you.  We will be talking about it, incorporating mindfullness, meditation, journalling, making lifestyle adjustments and most importantly learning to feel the emotions without any story and letting them release. This will free up space in your nervous system to calm down and together with more surface-layer practices we will be able to change our learned nervous system response and become symptom free. 

 

This deeper approach goes beyond recovery of your condition. It is an invitation to use this health challenge as fuel and guidance on a path of radical transformation and growth towards freedom, health and inner peace.

The approach I'm taking can be helpful for a very wide variety of conditions and complaints and is not limited to people who experience health problems. 

I am however mainly focussing on people dealing with nervous system conditions at the moment.
